📣 OVERVIEW

Born from small-town grit and basement dreams, Phil Cook & The Fall Dogs are a rock band for the bruised, the restless, and the loud. Think working-class swagger meets melodic muscle — songs built with scars, snarls, and a sneer-laced kind of hope.

From Southwestern Ontario, the Dogs forge a sound between pub-rock brawn and post-punk urgency. If Nick Lowe and Tom Petty had started a bar band with The Clash as roadies, this would be it.

🎧 LATEST RELEASE

“I DON’T WANNA BE FAMOUS” — Single (Oct 3, 2025) From the forthcoming EP YI QI! (2025) 🎧 Spotify Link | Push.fm | Bandcamp

It’s a scorched-earth sermon on celebrity delivered at breakneck speed—part Chuck Berry 45, part punk detonation. Gritty guitars snarl, bass struts, drums hammer. Pop Punk swagger meets Garage Rock bite.

🎥 VIDEO SERIES

  • Member backstories & tone quests

  • Songwriting chaos & creative collisions

  • Roadblocks, hangups & small victories Equal parts Spinal Tap and group therapy — raw, unfiltered, and loud.

🧑‍🎤 BAND BIOS

Phil Cook — The Alchemist Raised on ’60s counterculture and forged in the glow of ’70s and ’80s rock, Phil leads with the swagger of Petty, the brains of Costello, and the bite of Bowie. Formerly of 225 Main and Criminal World, he crafts songs that feel timeless and sharp.

Bill Marchant — Still Loud, Still Proud Three decades deep, Bill’s rocked every Ontario stage that smells like beer and feedback. Classic rock grit meets indie sensibility — part groove, part heart, all Marchant.

Brad Lishman — London’s Loudest Secret Started drumming at 17, now a rhythmic powerhouse with roots in 225 Main, Fatal Attraction, and Indiscretion. Hits like a train, grooves like your life depends on it.

James Keyes — Low-End Lunatic Born to rebel, raised on Cliff Burton. Formerly of Maiden Canada. A four-string menace with tone that shakes your fillings loose.

🔥 PRESS QUOTES

Phil Cook and the Fall Dog's brand spanking new single I Don't Want To Be Famous that hits the digital shops on the 7th of November. That has been taken from the band's up and coming new EP, Ye. She now the reason I interrupted Covers Corner for the Just Heard song. Yeah, it's a simple one. I just like the way the two went together, with the press release finishing up with the line. Forget dreams of limos and red carpets, fool dogs, Just kick the velvet rope down and set it on fire. Well, you won't be getting an argument from me on that map”.-- Armitage Smith - Radio Host

“Power-pop fury with the soul of a back-alley poet.” — Vibe Vault – YouTube channel

“Mr. Consistency is kicking off the show with his latest instantly ear-wormy alt-rock song.  Strong melodies and some interestingly complex rhythms with most instruments digging into off beats, give this song a compulsive flow.  As usual the vocal delivery from Phil Cook & the Fall Dogs owes much to his 70’s/80’s influences but the style is uniquely his and it’s one of the strongest signature sounds in the Indie world from an artist who is flying really high at the moment.” - Whiskers and Whiskey Club - Musicians, Journalists

“2 minutes 9 seconds of aural joy — a sobering message in a fun-sounding package.” — Distance From Zero – Music Blogger

“Phil Cook & the Fall Dogs Hello Hello should be on the lips of indie label A&R. Great song.” – Ric Gordon - Musician, Producer
